Night at the Ballpark

I forgot to mention that part of the birthday weekend included a trip down to Arlington to catch a Rangers game. Saturday turned out to be a beautiful night for baseball, despite the near-100 temperatures. It was crowded at the ballpark because this was an important AL West Division series, so we didn't get to sit in the outfield bleachers like we like. But we could still see the game very well from what are probably the cheapest of the cheap seats. The Rangers ended up getting beat 6-2, but it was just fun to be at the ballpark. Here are the pictures. By the way, the pictures of Cowboys Stadium is taken from the upper deck of the ballpark. But there's really no way to capture in a picture how gigantic it really is.

Rach's Birthday!

As most of you know, we took a short pause from all the baby preparations this past weekend to celebrate Rachel's 23rd birthday. As you may have guessed, she was pretty much spoiled rotten. She even had a world-class custom cake baked and decorated for her by yours truly. Impressed as you may be by my culinary artistry, I have yet to be offered a guest appearance on the popular tv show "Ace of Cakes" yet. I'm sure that's forthcoming. Altogether a fun weekend. Enjoy the pics.

All is well!!!

After the most recent doctor’s visit, no news is still good news. Baby and Mom are both still healthy and doing well. The heartbeat from the little one is good and strong, so as of now, things are progressing smoothly. Rachel would probably choose less of the side-effects, but she still looks great. Here are a few pictures of how well she’s holding up at 6 months+. Let her know how good you think she looks!

The Start of Something New

With the arrival of Baby Shearer only a few months away, Rachel and I have felt the need to connect with friends and family across the country in a more personal way. While Facebook has been a valuable tool for doing this in recent years, we feel that we’d like to share our future experiences in a web space with less distractions and a little more privacy. For this reason, we’ve created this blog as a place for our loved ones to come and see what’s new in our lives. We hope to be able share stories, experiences, pictures, links–whatever we feel may be of worth to those that are near and dear to our hearts. Our hope is that while thousands of miles may separate us from friends and family, this blog will help us keep each of you close to our hearts. Hope you enjoy it!
